A NEW BEGINNING

With a new website, comes more news. For those that didn't know (I feel like I've talked about it enough—It was pretty cool.) I worked for Converse for almost the last 5 years. I was a Footwear Designer working on specialized product for certain accounts. It was a great ride where I got to travel the world and learn so much about myself and business. If you told me while I was in school I'd be a part of a brand so many people adore I wouldn't have believed you.

But just last Friday (Friday the 13th, oh it was so fitting!) was my last day of work at Converse. I wasn't completely happy, knew I was free enough still to take a chance, and I decided to leave the company. With that comes time to let things settle and see where the wind takes me, but it also provides more time to focus on Dance Party Massacre. While the brand has done great and exceeded many of my goals, I never have been fully able to be give the attention it really needs to grow—I now have that time.

Honestly, over the past 5 years there have been ups and downs, ins and outs wondering if all this time and money is worth it. Sometimes it's a (super) fun hobby, sometimes I want it to be a real (stable) business. Through it all, I still love DPM. Whenever I thought maybe I should stop it, I couldn't let it go. I still have ideas for it. I still care for it. I still get inspired by it. I'm hoping now, with ties broken that were holding me back I can take it seriously once and for all. It's time to make it a business (Especially since I have no job, ha.) and I hope you guys will come along for the final ride!
