Woa, speaking of Converse shoes recently, I came across this custom Weapon that Zoltron turned from a plain white shoe into a monster!
In their latest issue (February—March ‘09) AMP Magazine featured 3 designs from our line as part of their Spring Fashion feature. It’s wicked cool!
Even cooler that it’s New Found Glory on the cover!

Back in the 80s Converse did a collab of shoes with surf/beach-based clothing line Jams. Just a few days ago they rereleased a few select pairs from the line.
PERFECT for the warm season ahead, and the gnarliest indie ensemble, wear these with some skinny pants or some cut-off khakis/jeans and you get my approval. Also check out the Mid, limited edition, and the Chuck Lo and Hi version.
Converse is coming up with some awesome new things (some pics behind the cut), so expand your mind beyond the Chuck! And yes, I’ll say all I want about the company I work for!

Zac wearing Vampire Grill with da sleeeves cut off
Our friends The Blue Pages had their CD Release Party last night, and it was our honor that they all wore DPM on stage! They’re a fun band with catchy music so check out their new album “Bear Fight”!
Opening for them was All These Kings and Ian Walsh. I put up some video on our YouTube channel, and some photos below, but I missed ATK!

I put in Dario Argento’s Tenebre yesterday and during the opening minutes an electro-synth beat starts playing over the credits and I was all like “WTF?! I know this song!” I’d forgotten how the French golden-child of last year’s electronic scene had sampled the score from this film for their album.
Justice’s “Phantom” is almost an exact take on Goblin’s “Tenebre”. Just check out the clip above!
I can’t say I hate how it’s so similar, that they’re just ripping off, blah blah blah …because how many people have even seen Argento’s Italian giallo film from 1982? The title song has a great beat that Justice pulled into the modern era and made accessible to another culture. They gave it a new voice. I can’t say DPM isn’t trying to do the same. It’s the whole “appropriation” idea that Shepard Fairey is currently falling under slack for.
What do you think? What’s the line between copying and playing homage? Or should I say ripping off and appropriation?
