LAB Release Photos

Hey guys,

I want to extend a big thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday!

SERIOUSLY!

You make a clothing line for it to be seen and people out there to wear it. We can continue doing our own thing and having our own parties, selling the stuff ourselves, but the goal is for other stores to carry it. We want to expand and with LAB Boston carrying it in our hometown it’s a great start.

To see people, fans and new customers alike, come in off the street and check us out was awesome. We really appreciated the support. I, personally, met some really cool people and got to catch up with others I hadn’t seen in a while.

One of the best things was our fan Hazey bringing us this custom made DPM munny! How cool is that?!

Big thanks to Kim from LAB for hooking us up, DJ Nato for providing the music, and Red Bull for making me jittery.

You can view photos from the party on our website!

Keep spreading the blood,
Alex

What are U afraid of?

Hello final girls and boys,

From the earliest stages of this brand it’s always been about fear. It’s about acknowledging it, and embracing it. It’s about overcoming it and living our lives. Why are we afraid to dance? Why can’t we just be ourselves? What’s holding us back? What demons to we have to kill?!

I think if you get close enough to people you’d find that many of us share common fears, concerns, thoughts, and reservations. As humans we instinctively are more alike than we may realize. While we may feel alone in the dark sometimes, we all have things keeping us down.

At the first party we held we brought this idea right out in the open with a wall reserved for people to jot down what scares them. We used it again after that and now we’ve brought it to the internet.

Two months ago Dance Party Massacre launched it’s What are U afraid of? campaign. You may have noticed the stickers around your city, or seen an ad pop-up on a website, or found the clue in one of our mysterious bulletins.

We started it up as a social experiment—posing a pretty standard question and seeing what the response would be. It’s still mostly out of our hands and what will become of the website is still left to be seen. I always thought it would turn into a way of sharing concerns and connecting with others. It’s a dark anonymous place where we can shout out what’s wrong in our lives and feel safe about it.

The small, suspicious stickers that you stumble upon around the city not only act as a catalyst to find out what this is all about, but we hope that it makes people stop and evaluate it into their own lives right then and there. The question could be about a fear of clowns, but it could mean more than that.

So go on and join in. What are U afraid of?!

Never stop asking,
Alex

LAB Release Party

Oohh hey what’s up?

Turns out this little Boston line is making its way into Boston stores! The first shop in Greater Boston is now carrying Dance Party Massacre, and we’re having a release party to celebrate! Big thanks to LAB Boston in Allston for believing in us!

Come join us on Saturday, June 21st from 7—9:30PM at LAB to check out the line (purchase some stuff?), dance to some beats by DJ Nato, have some free drinks and food, and grab up some free promo stuff!

I think I say this about every event we’re a part of, but this is a really great thing! Hopefully this will help spread the blood of DPM, and we’d love to see you all there. That’s you Scream Team!

The Scream Team

Why hello hello,

For some of you past customers, you already know about what I am going to tell the rest of the kids out there. Dance Party Massacre is officially starting up our Scream Team!

The Scream Team is the crew that backs us up. They believe in the line, the message, and, of course, the clothing. It’s you fans out there who care more about us than the casual buyer. If we were being stalked by Freddy, or chomped on by a zombie, the Scream Team would get that sucka!

You are a group of people who help Dance Party Massacre by supporting it, promoting it, becoming more involved, and hopefully having some fun too!

I say that some of you are already aware of the Scream Team, because about 2 weeks ago we sent out a slew of packages to people! It’s already begun!

Right now we’re looking for people in big cities of America to get at us. If you’re interested in helping promote the line by getting some free promo items, just e-mail your name and address to screamteam@dancepartymassacre.com. We’re really counting on you guys from Boston to contact us to keep it going in our hometown. We’re definitely starting up the NEW Boston Massacre!

For people who don’t fit in that category, you can easily help us out by posting one of the buttons or banners below onto your myspace, message board, website—wherever! In time more will be happening, but for now this is what we need from you Scream Team!

Thanks so much everyone!
SCREAM YOUR HEAD OFF!

Friday the 13th Contest!

Hey there gals and ghouls,

We’ve teamed up with dance parties and websites in the past for events and giveaways, but this one is probably the most creative!

Fatally Yours is holding a Friday the 13th Battle of Blood contest where you have to take a picture of yourself recreating a death scene from any of the numerous Friday the 13th movies. The one who kills it best wins a bloody prize pack including free swag (Ya, we can use that word) from us!

We don’t think yours has to be an lolimage, but I wish it did. I almost peed my pants when I saw this pic posted on their contest page.

Read all the details of the competition here.

Bloody bye bye,
Alex
